Abstract

Beach ridges up to 1.5 m in height are produced by ice floes riding up on beaches during ice break-up. Samples of sediment-laden ice were analyzed for sediment content - 27.1 - 192.2 kg m3. Ice serves to redistribute nearshore sediments from shallow subtidal zone onto beach.
