Abstract
In Alaska, during glacier advances, fjord-basin sediments are transported to ice front to form moraine shoal, which has effect of reducing calving rate. Thus, during successive glacial cycles, sediment is at first stored and then removed from fjord basins. In fjords of eastern Baffin Island, sedimentation rates are now, and were, much lower and fjord-basin fills may span several glacial cycles. Discusses why this difference in sedimentation rate exists
