Abstract
A riverbank erosion project at Dinosaur Provincial Park in southern Alberta, Canada, is described. The Red Deer River has eroded a stretch of the bank near a recreational area. An engineered cellular confinement system was adopted to protect the bank. This provided structural support to the soil veneer and ensured that a uniform soil thickness was established and maintained on the slope face using a geotextile fabric.
