Abstract
Climate changes have an effect on MTQ airport infrastructures in Nunavik. Permafrost thaw causes important differential settlements of embankments and water accumulations appears at the embankment toe. In 2004, the inspection of the infrastructures led to a program of follow-up with instrumentation in vulnerable areas. Geophysics and drillings campaigns allowed improving permafrost characterization and an important thaw was revealed at the embankment toe. Permafrost behaviour to thaw will be evaluated on frozen intact samples. The experiment of adaptation techniques and all the gathered data will serve to develop a strategy of adaptation for each infrastructure.
