Abstract

Prepared under the auspices of the regional sections of the Geological Society of America as a part of the Decade of North American Geology (DNAG) Project. Striae on bedrock show area was last glaciated by Late Wisconsinan ice cap flowing WNW from interior ice divides. Stratigraphic relations between deposits of maximal and deglacial phases of Late Wisconsinan glaciation and overlying marine sediments demonstrate mode and pattern of deglaciation and marine submergence. Ice margin readvanced into sea in some places but was stabilized by marine influence in others
