Abstract

Making use of limmited ground temperature measurements in the neighborhood of a small shallow lake near Inuvik, NWT it was possible with the help of an electronic computer to estmate the entire thermal regime under the lake and about the lake. The results indicated a completly unfrozen zone of roughly hour-glass shape directly under the lake.
