Abstract
Field work was conducted in 1977 on the Ram Plateau, located along the eastern front of the Mackenzie Mountains, Northwest Territories, approximately 160 km west of Fort Simpson. ... The purposes of this study, then, were threefold: (1) to determine the recent flood history of Ram River and its tributaries; (2) to study the periods of movement of slumps and debris avalanches along the tributary streams; and (3) to establish any relationships, particularly temporal, between flooding and mass-wasting. These objectives were accomplished through tree-ring analysis of trees affected by flooding and mass movement.
