Abstract
The Geological Survey of Canada has initiated a Quaternary mapping project in the Repulse Bay - Wager Bay area, Nunavut, to address gaps in mapping coverage, drift composition and glacial event sequences. Field observations and imagery interpretation reveal a complex glacial history, including multiple striation directions and superimposed landforms, a late convergence of flow into Repulse Bay, the southern extension of the Rae Isthmus ice stream, and contrasting marine incursion limits. Continued fieldwork will help to reconcile remote predictive mapping glacial reconstruction models with field-based observations.
