Abstract
The Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC) has completed a project related to drift prospecting in the Sulphide-Hebden Lakes area of the La Ronge Belt. The program consisted of surficial geological mapping and till sampling. This area was chosen because of the presence of know gold showings and its complex Quaternary geology which includes the presence of glacial lake Agassiz lacustrine sediments and an overlying readvance till. The objective of this project was to provide a regional framework of the surficial sediments and till geochemistry, to set up the local stratigraphy of the Quaternary deposits and to identify the most useful sampling media and drift prospecting techniques in aid of mineral exploration in the area. The report focuses primarily on the surficial geology with general comments on the till geochemistry
