Abstract
This paper describes historical climatic research based on content analysis of Hudson's Bay company records. It describes the use of individual post records to reconstruct dates of phenomena such as first snowfall, first frost, first thunder in summer, and first sighting of geese in spring in northern regions. It also describes the use of HBC records to understand past ice conditions.
