Abstract
The Eden fire burned a large area west of Salmon Arm in 1973. The burned area included two gauged watersheds, Palmer and Gordon Creeks. About 60 percent of Palmer Creek, and 25 percent of Gordon Creek were affected. Monitoring of streamflow indicated that the burn increased water yield, peak flow magnitudes, soil erosion and stream sedimentation and advanced the timing of spring runoff and annual peak flows. The study was continued to monitor the rate of hydrologic recovery as vegetation reestablishes.
