Abstract
Proposes that rapid oscillations of Laurentide ice sheet, most pronounced between 13 and 10 }14{C ka BP, are not climatic in origin, but reflect inherent instability associated with deforming sediment dynamics. Such behaviour would have played critical role in affecting climate in North Atlantic region by controlling variable fluxes of icebergs and meltwater, as well as meltwater routing
