Abstract

Although pingos are common in the Mackenzie Delta, no occurences have been reported for the interior of the Northwest Territories. Upon discovery, this feature was visited and superficially examined. Subsequent analysis and radiocarbon dating allowed conclusions to be made about deglaciation of the area, deposition processes, lake and river levels and historical climatical conditions.
