Abstract
This section summarizes the results of a large-scale subsurface study of Quaternary strata carried out between 2006 and 2008 in the vicinity of the Vars–Winchester esker, a high yield aquifer east of Ottawa. It is designed to provide an overview of the basin stratigraphy and to give participants context for the field stops. Results are based on an integrated dataset of seismic transects, cored and uncored wells, outcrops, and aerial images.
