Abstract
The dendrogeomorphological dating and characterization of a debris avalanche was conducted on a slope along route 381 in the Réserve faunique des Laurentides (Charlevoix, Québec). Using impact scars as tree-ring data, the debris avalanche was dated to1996. This date corresponds with the Déluge du Saguenay, a major rainstorm that occured on july 19th and 20th 1996. This event greatly affected the regions by causing many mass movements.
