Abstract
Greely Fiord is the largest embayment on Ellesmere Island measuring 180 km long, up to 25 km wide and 600 m deep. Together with its five tributary fiords it forms a huge dendritic pattern extending from Eureka and Nansen sounds in the west to the icefields of the Grant Land, and Victoria and Albert Mountains to the north and east, respectively. If there was ever an Innuitian Ice Sheet centred over Eureka Sound, then Greely Fiord must have served as a major conduit for this ice.
