Abstract
A conspicuous blanket of volcanic ash in eastern Alaska and southern Yukon Territory was deposited between 1750 and 1520 years ago, according to radiocarbon-dated peat samples. This age is remarkably close to the 1400-year age previously estimated from the accumulation rate of peat above the ash.
