Abstract
The Centre Hospitalier Robert-Giffard in Beauport (Québec) obtains its water supply from a buried valley sand aquifer. A hydrogeophysical study has been undertaken to delineate the buried valley and produce a stratigraphic cross-section. Ground penetrating radar profiling and induced polarization tomography, two complementary geophysical methods, were carried out along the same survey line orthogonal to the valley. The buried valley is 15 m wide and as deep as 40 m. The water table is located in a 6-m thick deposit of shoreline sediments lying on the bedrock.
