Abstract
In Canada therefore, thanks to our later development and to the strict application of the Arctic Land Use Regulations, we have been spared many of the esthetic and terrain problems of early Alaska. However, the deep drilling involved in much Canadian exploration, the complex geology of potential oil and gas reserves, the absence of easily accessible gravel aggregate sources, and the extra logistical costs of operating in the High Arctic islands are specific problems which Canadian exploration has to overcome.
