Abstract

The reference list provides information on maps (scales greater than 1:50,000) of surficial materials of Canada. Most of the listed references are for standard published surficial or Quaternary geology maps, but a number are for figures from publications and theses, and maps that cover only limited aspects of surficial geology. This is not a complete list of all maps describing surficial materials as specialized maps such as those related to granular aggregate inventory and agricultural soils are not included, neither are open files and preliminary maps where these have been superseded by final maps. ... References are organized by author and date. The area covered by each map, indicated by NTS designation, is given at the end of each reference. A % sign indicates only partial coverage of an NTS sheet. These same maps, grouped according to scales and provinces or territories and organized by NTS sheet, appear in a table on the back of theSurficial Materials Map of Canada .... The disk which accompanies this report includes the text of this list in WordPerfect 5.1, and ASCII delimited format. The ASCII delimited formatted information was compiled directly from a current database and includes 1994 and some 1995 references. Some of the references provided in digital format are incomplete and not available as regular publications
