Abstract
The apparent geomorphic impacts of short-lived, high magnitude processes and events in the Canadian Rockies in the Holocene are described and discussed. Examples of geomorphic events which are discussed include: rockslope failures (rockfalls, rockslides and rock avalanches), debris flows and debris torrents, and some processes associated with glaciation. The examples are derived from the observations of geomorphologists, geologists, and engineers whose research focusses on contemporary processes and interpretations of landforms and sediments.
