Abstract
Eight new accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS) radiocarbon dates from proglacial sediments in Emerald Basin indicate that the previously proposed chronology, based on dates of total organic matter, is much too old. The new chronology indicates that grounded ice occupied Emerald Basin in the Late Wisconsinan.
