Abstract
This report is the result of research undertaken as Project 2014 of theEcological Processes Team of the McGregor Model Forest. Fieldwork wasundertaken in 1995 and 1996, with analysis of data and report production in1996 and 1997. Objectives of the study were to: characterize the major streams of the MMF in terms of their current flood discharges and sediment discharges; determine the history of change in these parameters and their sensitivity to change; elaborate the sources of observed changes in channel form in terms of climatic change and change in disturbance intensity and type; apply this information in interpreting the effects of future disturbance and the options for mitigating these changes. Hydrological and historical fluvial studies were undertaken along the lower McGregor River above Church Road Bridge, and along Seebach Creek. The McGregor River drains part of the western slopes of the Rocky and part of the McGregor Plateau. Its tributary, Seebach Creek drainsmuch of the McGregor Plateau in the northern portion of the McGregor Model forest.
