Abstract

Morphology and site characteristics are described for ploughing blocks in a sub-alpine zone of the Canadian Rockies. The ploughing block features (blocks, troughs, levees, etc.) are generally larger than those described for other parts of the world. Good correlations were found between block size and both depression size and mound height. A number of ancillary observations and measurements suggest active block movement in the study area.
